UnifiedPOS Release 1.xThere are no current plans for additional releases of the 1.x standard. Minor corrections may be made to the 1.14 specification, as needed. UnifiedPOS Release 2.0A future significant enhancement, UnifiedPOS Release 2.0, is in progress. Excerpting from the UnifiedPOS 1.14.1, page E-37, the committee is "working on a vastly updated version of the standard, UnifiedPOS Version 2, which builds upon the UnifiedPOS 1.X functionality but incorporates newer hardware and software technologies not envisioned when V1.x versions were created."
